We have a Local Governing Body of nine Governors, representing parents, staff, the Diocese and the Wantage community, and we also draw on the skills and experience of associate Governors to support the promotion and development of the school. We meet on a monthly basis as a whole group to discuss areas such as finance, resources, facilities, staffing, and curriculum. Our key role is to support and challenge the Head Teacher in their day to day management of the school, to ensure that we are delivering the very best education to the children of Wantage.

Our school is at a really interesting point in its history. With our conversion to Academy status, we are now a founder member of the Vale Academy Trust, along with Charlton Primary and King Alfred’s Secondary Academy. The vision for the Trust is to improve teaching and learning even further from ages 3 to 18 in Wantage and the surrounding areas. This means that our Local Governing Body reports into the Directors of the Vale Academy Trust, ensuring that we are delivering against the Trust's Development Plan and ensuring that the school is delivering on the requirements of the community.

As a Church of England school, we have a strong Christian ethos with close links to the local Parish Church, and this is reflected in the Local Governing Body. As well as Diocesan Governors, there is a separate Foundation Governors committee that takes care of the business and requirements of being a C of E school.
